DIACONATE MINISTRY

Oversees select administrative and spiritual matters of the church; are ministry assistants and serve the congregation as assigned. Promotes unity of fellowship; assist in executing the Ordinances of the church, and handles membership concerns and assignments as delegated by the pastor.

MINISTERIAL STAFF

The Ministerial Staff works in concert with the pastor in implementing assigned ministerial duties and responsibilities. The group supports, undergirds and serves as extended arms of the pastoral office; Serves as the internal infrastructure of the ministry consisting of dedicated elders, ministers, evangelists, deaconess and aspiring missionaries who have accepted the call of God and the mission of the Church of Jesus Christ to faithfully serve the people of God.

MUSIC AND MINISTRY ARTS

The Music and Ministry Arts Department provides ministry through the mediums of music and fine arts as an enhancement to the worship experience. The department consists of all choirs, groups, ensembles, the praise teams, musical accompaniment, and the fine arts ministry.  The ministry’s involvement includes, but is not limited to, Sunday services, revivals, crusades, funerals and special services and events.  Opportunities for music and fine arts ministry include: the Voices of Carter, the Voices of Vision, Next Generation Youth Choir, the Children’s Choir, Men’s Chorus, Praise and Worship Ministry, and a variety of ministry expressions including dance, drama, mime, and other fine arts interpretative presentations to the glory of God.  

YOUTH & YOUNG ADULT MINISTRY

The objective of the Youth Department is to inspire spiritual and physical growth by providing enthusiastic youth programs that are designed to be life changing and fulfilling to today’s youth.  Children’s Church, Youth Bible Study, Young Women of Excellence and Young Men of Valor are among the various ministries that comprise the department.

CHRISTIAN EDUCATION

The Christian Education Department includes the various training and teaching ministries of the church including Sunday School, Bible Study and various components of the School of Ministry Kingdom Builders Training Institute and mentoring class.

MISSIONS

The Department of Missions provides substance, support and care to persons of less fortunate means within the church and community. In compliance with established policies and procedures, the mission program annually serves both local (home) and foreign mission projects. The church food pantry and clothing bank along with the annual holiday basket give-a-ways (Project Harvest) are among the many mission ministries of the church. In addition, the church annually supports and responds to a cry for mission support outside the local area, thus accommodating our desire to fulfill our foreign mission goal.

EVANGELISM

The Department of Evangelism is the outreach arm of the ministry. The department consists of the Institutional/Prison Ministry, Tract Ministry, Convalescent Home Ministry and the street witnessing team. These groups are responsible to carry the Gospel beyond the walls of the church into the highways and hedges compelling men and women to a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ. The Ministerial Council of Elders, Ministers and Missionaries are a major part of the work of the department.

MEMBERSHIP SERVICES

Membership Services is the in-reach arm of the ministry. The department is responsible to ensure that the membership is adequately served by the ministry. Components of the department include new member’s orientation and membership benefits and services ensuring that no member is left behind.

WOMEN’S MINISTRIES

The Women’s Department consists of the women’s auxiliaries, circles and units. The department exists for the purpose of specific ministry to and for women. Its activities include the Annual Women’s Conference along with ongoing ministries that edify and enhance women in their quest to fulfill God’s directives for their lives.  Young Women’s Christian Council (YWCC); Christian Women’s Council; Elders, Ministers and Deacons Wives; Business & Professional Women’s Federation and the Mother’s Board are all ministries within the Department.

MEN’S MINISTRY - Men Building Men Fellowship Ministry

The Men’s Ministry exists for the purpose of developing Christian brotherhood that inspires men to their rightful place in God, family and church. The group involves itself in various activities that promote and inspire self-betterment along with the physical and spiritual fulfillment of men in their quest to be all God has destined them to be. In addition, the group serves as a mentoring mechanism for young boys, and promotes attributes that will enhance ones development of a responsible citizen of the Kingdom of God and the community in which he lives. Men’s month, the Annual Men’s Conference and Retreat, along with the groups regularly scheduled meetings and outings comprise its involvements for the year.

 

AUXILIARY AND ADJUNCT MINISTRIES

SINGLES MINISTRY

The ministry is designed as a support mechanism to single adults in their Christian walk. Its members are encouraged and admonished through Biblical teaching to practice principles of Godliness as a way of life. In addition, various social and spiritual fellowships and outings are held annually in keeping with the doctrines and spiritual beliefs of the church. All single adults (never married, divorcees and the widowed) are encouraged to be members of the Single’s Ministry.

MARRIED COUPLES MINISTRY

This organization’s goal is to develop a strong family unit within the home. The love of God, family, and church are emphasized as important ingredients toward a successful marriage. In this time of unprecedented divorce rates, it is imperative that the church provide support, through the ministry, to those that have vowed before God and to each other, “till God, by death, shall separate us”. The Married Couple’s Ministry annually holds seminars and various other fellowship opportunities to encourage and motivate strong unions between married couples.

CULINARY ARTS MINISTRY

The official food and dining ministry of the church, this group oversees the operations of the kitchen and dining facilities, and suggests menus, and prepares food for various activities and events as required.

HOSPITALITY MINISTRY

The hospitality unit is comprised of individuals who enjoy serving others. They extend to guests and friends of the pastor and church a helping hand and a friendly spirit. These individuals are friendly, warm and engaging, and are dedicated to the comfort of church guests satisfying their hunger and thirst at designated times. They primarily serve and assist in the ministry fulfilling the request for special service when and where needed.

USHERS

The usher ministry consists of a group of men and women who are dedicated to “order” in the house of the Lord. This ministry is designed to portray the love that Christ has for all mankind through rendering service to the congregation and its guest. Seating, necessary sanctuary errands, and a general rule of maintaining reverence in the Lord’s house are among the ushers’ responsibilities.

GREETERS

Ministry greeters are, in most cases, among the first impressions of the ministry. They are responsible to greet, welcome and provide information and direction for guest upon entering the church complex. Their responsibilities, furthermore, includes securing visitor information and assuring that guest are properly directed, in addition to alerting ministry staff of any protocol concerns.

WELLNESS MINISTRY

The Wellness Ministry examines the Biblical approach to the physical wellness of the total man. This ministry focuses on nutrition, health, diet, and exercise. Throughout the year, the ministry sponsors various health initiatives for the benefit of the membership.

SENIORS MINISTRY

This ministry consists of persons age 60 and over. The group organizes and seeks ways to develop ministerial services for seniors to include seminars, retreats, trips to places of interest and various other fellowships. In addition, this ministry concerns itself with family members of senior citizens who may not be members of the church, and focuses on educating the congregation and general public about the dynamics of aging in its total perspective.

INTERCESSORY PRAYER MINISTRY

The Intercessory Prayer Ministry involves a group of saints that are diligent in prayer and consecration for the spiritual health and vibrancy of the ministry and its leadership. They are prayer warriors who intercede on behalf of the church and the many prayer requests received, and lead out in ministry shut-ins and prayer vigils. In addition, this group annually conducts a prayer summit that is designed to enhance ones prayer-life and understanding of the purpose and power of prayer.

BEREAVEMENT MINISTRY

Bereavement is a period of mourning. It is often the most difficult time for a family. Thus, members of the church family that are bereaving the lost of a loved one need to know that there is love expressed by the ministry. This ministry has a short term, yet, a long-range focus in that the grief-process is, often, not short lived. Therefore, the members of this ministry are prepared to remain involved for the long haul. Their responsibilities and duties involve consoling, supporting and ministering healing to the bereaved during their period of loss.

SECURITY TEAM MINISTRY

The security team is responsible for ensuring that certain modes of security and protective measures are observed and maintained at all times. The ministry and/or its property and resources, along with the pastor and his family are inclusive of the security details responsibilities. In addition, to the best of the ministry’s ability, the security team is responsible to the membership at large, congregants and guest of the ministry, while on church property, to ensure a vibrant and safe experience during church services and events.

ARMOUR BEARERS MINISTRY

The Armour Bearers Ministry is a servant ministry. It is also known as the Ministry of Helps or the Adjutancy. The word “adjutant” is derived from the Latin word “adjutare” meaning to aid or assist. Thus, the adjutancy is not designed to be a social organization, nor is it a position that should be looked upon prestigiously, but rather the chief aim of armor bearers is “service.” Armor bearers are to serve, assist and dignify the office of the pastor as he executes his responsibilities as under-shepherd of the flock. Members must have the mind and heart of a servant in order to serve effectively.

MULTI-MEDIA AND MARKETING MINISTRY

The Multi-Media Ministry is responsible for media services. Audio and visual production and media broadcasting are among its responsibilities. Additional responsibilities include management and development, design, update and maintenance of the ministry website.  The ministry involves promoting the use of quality recordings for  E-VANGELISM, internet radio and TV, along with managing the social networking ministry.  

PUBLIC RELATIONS

The Public Relations group is responsible for all print and audio media advertising. The department initiates press releases, public address announcements, and radio and TV ads. Interfaces with media personalities and promotes public awareness and visibility of the ministry utilizing a variety of advertising venues. Recommends ways and means of achieving an effective public promotion of the ministry work of the church, and ensures that all events are adequately advertised to maximize support, participation and achievement of ministry goals. Components of the PR department include church announcements and the CMC Newsflash, the official news publication of the ministry.
